Wir mögen keine LED-Lichterketten!
Sie werden meistens in China produziert und um den halben Erdball geschickt. Produktion und Transport sind alles andere als nachhaltig.
Man benötigt Akkus oder Batterien, damit sie leuchten und wohlmöglich kann man noch einen Flacker-Modus einstellen.
Wofür das alles? Um ein Wohlfühlambiente zu erschaffen, eine angenehme Atmosphäre? Braucht man wirklich ein extra LED-Camplight, um sich wohlzufühlen? Nein!
We don’t like LED string lights!
They are often produced in China and sent halfway around the world. Their production and transport are anything but sustainable.
You need accumulators or batteries so that they light up and you can perhaps also set a flicker mode. But what is all this for? To create a pleasant atmosphere? Do you really need an extra LED-Camplight to feel good? No!
Wir haben unseren Bulli nicht so spartanisch ausgebaut, um dann bei unseren „Explorer-Touren“ auf Batterien, Akkus, Powerbanken und so weiter angewiesen zu sein. 
- Wir möchten ein wenig ursprünglicher unterwegs sein.
- Wir möchten ein wenig „Abenteur-Feeling“ haben.
- Wir möchten natürlich flackerndes Licht – Lagerfeuer sind toll, aber nicht überall erlaubt!
- Wir möchten zu unserem Kult-Auto auch eine Kult-Lampe und zwar aus deutscher Produktion, um die langen Transportwege zu vermeiden.
We didn’t expand our Bulli in such a spartan way that we then had to rely on batteries, rechargeable batteries, power banks and so on for our „Explorer tours“.
- We want to be a little more original on the road.
- We want to create a small feeling of adventure.
- Of course we want flickering lights – campfires are great, but not allowed everywhere!
- For our cult car we would also like a cult lamp, and especially one made in Germany, to avoid long transport routes.
Deshalb sind wir schnell bei der Feuerhand Baby Special 276 von feuerhand.de gelandet.
Das ist eine Sturmlaterne, die seit mehr als 125 Jahren annähernd unverändert gebaut und mit Petroleum betrieben wird.
Diese Laterne kennt Ihr alle, habt sie alle schon mal gesehen – wenn nicht als Original, dann als billige Kopie… Vermutlich auch aus China…
Die Geschichte der Feuerhand Sturmlaternen geht zurück bis in das Jahr 1880, 1906 wurde ein erstes Patent auf den Glashebemechanismus erteilt.
Mittlerweile gehört Feuerhand zur Petromax-Gruppe und produziert immer noch in Deutschland.
Aktuell gibt es die Baby Special 276 in 21(!) verschiedenen Farben mit viel Zubehör. Wir haben extra eine Transporttasche für den Transport im Bulli dazu bekommen.

This is a hurricane lantern that has been built and fueled with paraffin / kerosene almost unchanged for more than 125 years.
You all know this lantern, you’ve all seen it before – if not as an original, then as a cheap copy… Probably also produced in China…
The history of the Feuerhand hurricane lanterns goes back to the year 1880. In 1906 the first patent for the glass lifting mechanism was granted.
Feuerhand now belongs to the Petromax Group and still produces in Germany.
The Baby Special 276 is currently available in 21(!) different colors with lots of accessories. We also got a transport bag for transport in the Bulli.
Ganz klar, die Lampe hat auch Nachteile.
- Sie wird mit Petroleum betrieben – nutzt man eine günstige Variante kann die Lampe unangenehm riechen
und auch mehr rußen. - Sie sollte natürlich nur im Freien benutzt werden.
- Sie wird heiß.
- Sie sollte vor dem Transport entleert werden – wenn man sie allerdings nicht unbedingt kopfüber hält oder sie zuvor übertankt hat, passiert gar nichts.
Clearly, the lamp also has disadvantages.
- It is operated with kerosene / paraffin oil – if you use a cheap version, the lamp can smell unpleasant and also produce more soot.
- Of course, it should only be used outdoors because it gets hot.
- It should be emptied before transport – but unless you hold it upside down or have overfilled it before, nothing will happen.
Allerdings überwiegen für uns die Vorteile deutlich!
Die Technik ist seit mehr als einhundert Jahren in allen möglichen Bereichen etabliert.
Die Lampe funktioniert immer.
Die Lampe spendet ein absolut gemütliches Licht, welches im Dunkeln allemal genau so hell ist, wie eine LED-Lichterkette.
However, for us the advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantages!
The technology has been established in all possible areas for more than a hundred years.
The lamp always works.
The lamp emits an absolutely cozy light, which is just as bright in the dark as a string of LED lights.
Fazit: Klare Kaufempfehlung!
