Wir haben sehr lange hin und her überlegt, wie wir uns toilettentechnisch im Bulli aufstellen wollen.
Aus den Zeiten, in den wir noch mit unseren Kindern und dem Qek Junior unterwegs waren, haben wir noch eine Chemie Toilette – eigentlich ist die vollkommen ausreichend.
Was aber deutlich stört ist der Chemie Geruch und das angewiesen sein auf Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten. Mit den Kindern waren wir eh häufiger auf einem Campingplatz, so dass die Entsorgung meistens problemlos möglich war.

We have thought long and hard about how we want to set up a toilet system in the van.
From the times when we were still on the road with our children and the Qek Junior, we still have a chemical toilet which is actually perfectly sufficient.
But what is clearly irritating is the chemical smell and the need to rely on disposal stations. With the children, we were on a campsite more often anyway so that the disposal was usually possible without any problems.

Im Sommer 2022 wollten wir zum ersten Mal ohne Kinder unterwegs sein und hatten im Vorfeld geplant, mehr Stellplätze zu nutzen. Was aber, wenn die kein WC haben? Also doch wieder das Chemie-Klo?

In the summer of 2022 we wanted to be on the road without children for the first time and had planned in advance to use more pitches. But what if they don’t have a restroom? Use the chemical toilet again?
Anfang 2022 haben wir uns dann zum ersten Mal mit dem Thema Trockentrenntoilette beschäftig – ganz coole Sache, aber auch super teuer! 400 – 600€ waren wir nicht bereit dafür auszugeben!
Dann haben wir die BOXIO gefunden, die auch noch super zu unseren anderen Euroboxen passt.
Und der Preis ist im Vergleich zu anderen Anbietern ein Schnäppchen…

At the beginning of 2022 we have dealt with the topic of having a separation toilet for the first time- pretty cool thing, but also super expensive! We were not ready to spend €400 – 600 on it!
But then we found the BOXIO, which also fits perfectly with our other Euroboxes.
And the price is a bargain compared to other models…

BOXIO nutzt in Deutschland gefertigte Euroboxen, die aus recyceltem Kunststoff hergestellt werden.
Der Trenneinsatz wird ebenfalls in Deutschland und aus Regenarat produziert.
Da uns Nachhaltigkeit auch sehr wichtig ist, war das natürlich auch ein starkes Argument. Zudem überzeugt uns die Einfachheit dieser Trockentrenntoilette – es gibt nicht viel, was kaputt gehen könnte und falls doch, sollte es relativ leicht auszutauschen sein…
Die Boxio hat Euroboxen-Format (400 x 300 x 280 mm) und passt super zu den anderen Euroboxen, die wir auf unserem DIY-Heckauszug nutzen.

BOXIO uses Euroboxes manufactured in Germany and made from recycled plastic.
The separator insert is also produced in Germany and from regenerated material.
Since sustainability is very important to us, this was of course also a strong argument. In addition, we are convinced by the simplicity of this separation toilet – there is not much that could break and if it does, it should be relatively easy to replace…
The Boxio is Eurobox size (400 x 300 x 280 mm) and fits great with the other Euroboxes we use on our DIY rear extension.

Seit Mitte 2022 nutzen wir die BOXIO TOILET jetzt und würden auch nicht mehr ohne sie verreisen.
Die Benutzung ist genial einfach und wenn man weiß, wie man eine Trockentrenntoilette richtig benutzt, riecht sie auch nicht. Entsorgungsprobleme gehören damit der Vergangenheit an.

We’ve been using the BOXIO TOILET since mid-2022 now and we wouldn’t travel without it anymore.
It’s brilliantly easy to use and if you know how to use a separation toilet properly, it doesn’t smell either. So, disposal problems are a problem of the past.
